Enterprise Tech Summit 2017 Preview #ETS17

For the second year in a row, I’ll be attending the Emerging Technology Summit event in Minneapolis, MN this year. I’m honor to say that, this year, I’ll be giving the conference keynote presentation. In this post, I’d like to give you a preview of what you can expect at the conference. Also, if you can’t attend the conference in person, subscribe to our blog to I’ll be posting over 10 video interviews from the conference so that you can get an idea about what was presented!

5 Reasons to Care About Emerging Technology

1y6351I know, I know, many of you are so busy just trying to “keep the lights on” and “fighting the fires” that you don’t have time to learn about emerging technologies. Being a former system administrator and IT Manager, I also know that it’s unlikely that you will ever get the staff that you need to truly manage and support the infrastructure, applications, and end users in your organization at 100%. The answer, my friends, is that we in IT NEED emerging technology to make our lives and our jobs easier. Like Obi-Wan Kenobi to Princess Leia, “Help us Emerging Tech, You’re our Only Hope!”

Here are 5 Reasons to care about emerging tech:

  1. Emerging tech can make our life, as IT Pro’s, easier and more efficient – maybe we can finally stop working nights/weekends and spend more time with our family
  2. Emerging tech is necessary to secure our data – yesterday’s security tools obviously aren’t cutting it!
  3. Emerging tech is necessary to deal with massive growth in our company’s and end users’ data!
  4. Emerging tech is what will make our business competitive and successful (and ultimately us, as IT Pros successful)
  5. Emerging tech can make us, in IT, look like heros, to the business

What You’ll See at the Emerging Technology Summit

Besides my keynote about the future of cloud computing (both on and off prem), you should attend the Emerging Tech Summit to hear from the some of the most innovative software and hardware companies in the world today (shown in the logos on the right). I have personally worked with and look forward to seeing again solutions from NetApp, Rubrik, Platform9, Cohesity, ZeroStack, and NEXSAN. However, as I will be attending sessions from and interviewing speakers from ALL of the sessions at ETS, I look forward to learning about the remainder of the companies presenting, for the first time!

Would you like to join us at the US Bank Stadium (home of the Minnesota Vikings!) to learn the latest in emerging technology?
